Got tired of changing the tooling, ordered 2 more holders. In the meantime, will be thinking about how it will end up looking.
Plus this is the first time in years to run the big Grizzly lathe!!
Also have another blank . It’s rectangular in shape.
So, wood lathe.(4 jaw chuck)
The motivation for using the metal lathe, is how shaping the inferior will be approached a bit differently.

I ended up just drilling to 1/2”, followed by 2 step drills!
Cheating!! Haha!
Once off the metal lathe and in the wood lathe, I got very little runout. So smoothing the inside should go well. (Last step).
I like how the exhaust “ring” is nice and even.

Now…. Where the initial 1/4 through hole I made comes out…. In center? Is a guess. I left the big tenon on when transferring. No hole in that.
