ASI Mini 14

Well I got my new toy!!!!!!! Took it out to sight in and was very pleased. After sighting in and playing with it for about 30 rounds. I shot for a group at 100 yards. Three shots measured .610 from outside to outside. I then subtracted the .224 for bullet diameter and came up with .406. Even if I did this the wrong way I am still happy with .610. I was able to keep them within 3" off the bipod (sitting) at 200 yards. I have tried to post photos of the Mini and the group. Not sure if it worked or not. The Mini has a 20" barrel with a 1 in 10 twist. I would guess the trigger is about 3.5 lbs.
Scope is Bushnell 4200 4-16
I have to come up with a brass catcher. Today I used my ball cap attached to the scope mounts and that worked to keep the brass on my ironing board shooting bench

Nice lookin gun Wehman, Is the new mini better for throwing brass than the old model?

What did you do with that stock you bought from me.

I'd like to see it on a good lookin gun as well.

Dave: I put my .17 Remington in it. I have to do a little work on it, relieve the barrel channel and shorten the LOP and clean up the recoil pad. Then I will take some photos.

It has their three point bedding. The brass gets thrown about 10 feet. But as someone who has always had bolt actions, I hate to have to look for the brass when I am at the range (gravel pit). The gas bushing in not adjustable.

Wehman,
Looks pretty good to me my friend. That is by far better than either of us expected. The rifle looks pretty awesome also. Now we need to get out and get you on some dogs.

Is this oneof ASI's specific packages or did you specify exactly what you wanted done. I love the way it came out. As someone with a fondness for Mini's I may have to save my pennies for one of my own from ASI. Does the comp keep your sights on target at the shot?

I bought it used form the original owner. He shot less than 200 rounds and decided to go a different way. He said he specified what he wanted. Yes the brake lets you stay on target, the weight helps also, it wighs 9 1/2 lbs.

Jeff: you can shoot any time you come out to Idaho, as long as you bring some of your toys for me to shoot.

Wow, that's a beauty. Mine should be done in 7 weeks. Just have to make sure I stay on top of everything to get it shipped to Canada when it's done.

Beautful looking ASI mini /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif. you should get the adjustable gas block or gas bushings. It's really nice to have as you can tune the gas flow to get brass flying only 2ft to the right. I've got the gas bushing for my ASI mini as well. Groups like what you've shot is the norm for ASI mini's. Mines can shoot .5-.7 with WW box 45grainers but it's not as hot lookin' as yours-new stock/optics&mounts is in the works /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif
