ATF notification:

The eForms software is not performing to our expectations. As a result, we are taking the eForms system down until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work with our industry partners to deliver a quality product. Any eForm submitted will continue to be processed. The finalized forms will be sent to the user via email . . .

Until the eForms system is returned to service for the industry, all imports forms (Forms 6 Part I and 6A), NFA forms (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 and 10), and AFMER reports (Form 5300.11) must be submitted via paper, including any eForms in draft status. [h/t silencernews.com]

Perhaps I’m talking apples and oranges, but amazon.com seemed to handle the holiday season rush with out a glitch. Why the [beeep] can’t the ATF's system be more like that?

Thats because it was most likely the same group of idiots that did obamys health care system.

It was probably much too efficient truth be told.....

Glad mine is done, picking it up this morning. I have two of them now so I'm happy. The only thing I'd like to do is transfer the first one into my trust and maybe....maybe do an SBR but that can wait. Not something that needs to be done now, I'll wait till things settle down.

Problem was the efile kept approving things quickly instead of backlogging them for 9 months. Cant be having any of that....

Trust ='s NO photo ID's, no NFA fingerprint cards, NO CLEO's signature, just to name a few, with the added benefits of adding trustee's (kids) etc. etc.

SBR ='s Short Barreled Rifle ='s any rifle with a barrel length under 16"...

Glad you got her in and done, I just sent off 12 personal form 4's if you want to see a legit TAX, do the math...

Can't believe how they can not make something like the e forms work... the registration site alone is down FOUR times a day for maintenance... I gave up trying to register during the day, because I literally could not get in... tried her at 2 a.m. and got it done, just to have the e-forms shut down a few days later... As a dealer, I'M GLAD, "There I Said IT !!!" it's much less of a hassle for me to just print the forms send them to my customer and have him bendover and "insert" his 200, then send it down the road.

Purchasing my first one tomorrow. Would you wait till the e file comes back on or just submit paperwork and wait a year?

Kinda stuck on what to do?

Are there any real updates on this? Seems like it went down and everyone is just in the dark. Searching online I can't find anything. Anyone hear from ATF directly or have an further info?

If it was me I would get my paper work sent in! your chances of getting it back quicker waiting for the E file to come back is very SLIM.

I heard with all the efile problems that they were shutting it down for now. Not sure but if so you better get it sent in.

Guess I will be sending mine in by paper and wait the wait. From what I've been reading from searching google, might be a long time for the efile to come back up, is I'm getting mine done now

I'll get ya unstuck...
This is the Gov. by the time they get the e-forms back up and running, your trust "may or may not" be processable anymore. I've heard about 3 different things one of them being from the ATF regarding when every trustee and beneficiary will have to submit, FP cards, photo's and CLEO... lets just say I "may or may not have" jumped the gun, and sent the PW via the mail.

Thanks skinny, will be mailing my paperwork tomorrow on my griffin suppresor Hope I made the right choice on suppresor and mailing it off

Aside the processing time, the main reason I did the trust was so my son can use it and I will be able to pass it on to him...what is supposed to happen to the silencer if I, let's say die unexpectedly and it's not in a trust?

Is he legally bound to turn it over to the govt?

This was my reasoning too. If 41P goes through the way I understand it, my baby would need fingerprints and a passport photo? If 41P wasn't on the forefront, it would be a big deal to wait this out. Sure would be nice to get an update or a press release or something from ATF on the eform issue.

Your kids or heirs have a certain time period to file a form 5, which is a tax "exempt" transfer.
