Anyone using the new Athlon scopes. They seem to have a lot of good features at the price point. Looking for reviews and how well they hold up in hunting and target shooting situations.
Athlon talos 4-16-40 owner here. Have only used it at the range so far. Illuminated reticle. Works great and holds zero. Bdc 600. No complaints yet. Customer service and the warranty is vortex quality.
Just ordered a Talos 3-12x40 for my stevens 223 so my nephew could deer hunt with it. I had a Tasco 2.5-10 on there but 2 min after sunset you cant see anything thru it. So hopefully this will get him to the end of legal shooting hours.
There are a bunch of threads about the Athlon's over on snipers hide and most of them are positive. I was all set to buy a Midas when I got a heck of a deal on a Minox so I went that route instead.
Just looked at some they are nice looked at the talos Midas and cronus. The warranty is actually a little better then vortex I was just told they pay for shipping to them and back to you and vortex doesn't do that, they just pay shipping back. I'm pretty sure my next scope will be a Cronus.
I've got a Midas BTR 1-6x24 on my .308 and love it! It pulls double duty as my summer coyote rifle and deer rifle at times. It replaced a FFP 1-4x24 from Weaver, and I couldn't be happier that I made the switch.
Can't speak for the other lines or bigger magnification scopes, but for what I wanted, it's perfect!
I bought the Argos BTR and put it on a Creedmoor. Its very clear and tracks like its supposed to. The only complaints that i have had are that the turrets are not real crisp and it does not have a zero stop. A couple of nylon washers under the turret makes an adequate stop and cleaning the thick grease off of the turret orings and smearing a thinner silicone grease on them and it now has nice pronounced clicks. Overall for the price it has exceeded my expectations.

I tried to mount the Talos last night on my Stevens 200 with a Leupold one piece mount and the plug on the bottom left of the scope wouldnt let the scope sit in the rings. Switched over to a 2 piece weaver base and rings and even on a short action stevens the scope was too short.
