I keep seeing these for sale at different places. Does any one here have one? They are selling at some very good prices and was just wondering how good they are.

I just got a MIDAS 4.5x 27. Just got it mounted on a 243 and have only looked out the window with it. So far, pluses are: Clear glass, easily seeing great detail at 250 yards. Reticle, It's a APLR1 in Mil/Mil. Being second plane it's only scale-able at 15 x. Customer service, I read a review stating that they were making upgraded turrets because the earlier ones used a 1 mm drive set-screw. I emailed them last night and got a reply this morning asking for the exact model. Knobs turn easily and have good distinct clicks. Illumination has an off spot between each setting.
Cons: Turrets are non-locking so this will just be a range scope. That's the only negative I can find so far. I'll use the washer trick to set the elevation zero stop. It was kind of cheap that they use the same turret cap for windage as elevation.
Will take it to the range on the next trip and see how it works.

I have this same Midas scope ---good glass --
Will have to call and see about this upgrade ---
Where was review ????
Exact same scope ----#213022---
Will be watching to see about turrets ---
Thx

I have looked through the talos Midas and Cronus and think they are great for the money. The Midas and Cronus are great looking glass. I compared the Midas and Cronus to my pst side by side the Midas I thought had better glass then the vortex viper pst. The Cronus kicked the psts glasses butt. The turrets are pretty decent on the athlon I would definitely buy a athlon Midas over my pst now. I would like to see the area btr. Now the binos I have looked at the Midas ares and the Cronus. I think they are great binos for the money I think the Cronus will hang with the vortex razors maybe. I plan on buying a pair of athlon binos but hunting season is basically over now so I think I'm going to wait awhile and see if they come out with any new binos. I think athlon is a lot like vortex was when they first started. The scopes are seen to be built good they aren't a light weight scope but that tells me they are built tough.

Thanks to everyone who posted here. This is the kind of reviews i was wanting to see. I think i will get the 6-24x50 soon. These are priced cheap right now but i bet they go up in price after they have been out awhile.

Just email Athlon and be specific as to your exact scope. Will let you guys know as soon as the new turrets arrive.

I got my new knobs from Athlon in a few days. Prompt shipping. The set screws are the same. The only improvement is a dedicated windage knob instead of having elevation knobs for both.
I still haven't shot it yet. I'm in a bad spot on my work schedule. The scope is on top of a Thompson Venture 243 that should be a good base for stretching that scope out a bit.

I'm looking at the Atlon Argos scope and I think it is a very good scope for the money I'm thinking about the Argos or the Midas for my new 6.5 creed moor
