I'll have to say "ditto" on what IOTN saya, cougerbait.  Gen 1 will get you maybe 50 yds with a decent illuminator, and then only in a narrow field of view.  You can get good results with a headgear mounted Gen 3 monocle and the right red-dot scope, it does not change the POI.  If you'll email me I can give you a lot more detailed info. timbermanxx@direcway.com (take out the x's)
