Went out this morning and enjoyed perfect weather, a fresh dusting of snow, mid temps and no wind! Made my first stand in a great spot but came out empty handed, walked across the road to another farm and set up along a creek. Played a rabbit distress on low and ramped it up a bit but not much. Off to the left (up wind) I see a fox come trotting in so I got my phone out to take a pic of it since I no longer shoot them when all of a sudden I see a coyote on it's heals. I turned up the caller to get it's attention, while the fox hightailed it out of dodge. The coyote then jumped the creek and stood there about 120 yards out. Once it saw my caller it came running full tilt. I gave it a couple of woofs and it stopped at about 70 yards for a prefect frontal shot. I'm learning how to use this e-caller now and find I don't need to crank it up as loud as I thought I needed too.
