badger and coyote

Looks like a fun time. Good catch. I look at the last pic and I can see Kaleb. One way or another I am going to get him out this year with me.

Ryan, you need to get that last pic framed. If that ain't the coolest thing ever i don't know what is. Teaching the next generation is what hunting is about. Way to go!!!

Trapper2 those are geat pictures. I noticed in the first picture the coyote is in a trap, how do you break your dogs of getting into your sets. I have two trap dogs and I was wondering if you had any advice other than just letting them get caught in a foothold a few times. If that is the right way, how important is age of the dog. My oldest dog, a lab mix, will be two this Nov. and has never been caught. the youngest is an Ogorman/Doorn dog and has been caught a few times but is too bold (or stupid) to stay out of my sets. Maybe I should make this a new topic, I was just enjoying your pic and thought you must have some experience in the topic.

doodle, i just let mine get caught, if they keep it up then i will start shocking them when they get close to a set, seems like all of mine are broke mostly by a year old, but they have all been caught afew times by then, but even my older dogs get in them sometimes, glad you liked the pics guys

Hey ryan, just so you know, that cat. Female you got from me has bEen caught in one of mine, just thought I'd let you know since we were on the topic.

Hey Ryan,The future looks bright for Wildlife Services.I always hated to sneek into a calling stand and have the dogs catch a babger, you can stun one pretty easy with a pair of shooting sticks. Great photos.Saludos de, Tu Amigo mustanger.

Those are some COOL pics. I can't believe how big that boy of yours is getting. Moses is a cool dog, and so is spot. They are a pretty good tag team.

I was wondering if you let your dogs chew all your catches ? I had a grader at the Seattle Fur Exchange show me the the blue spots in the pelts houndmen had sent in. They had let their dogs worry the cats and coon they had caught After that I always caught my dogs up before I shot a coon .Let em smell and get a good growl on but no biting.

We usually let the dogs chew on coons. And especially now that we're training our pups, we let them get a good taste of coon.

Til fur prices come up, anything other than a bobcat, is worth more for training, than it is at a "fur sale".
I let my dogs chew stuff as much as they want.
The older (more finished) dogs get, the less they wanna "wool critters".(dead ones)
For pups, I say chewin fur is good. Just my thoughts.
