We have tons of badgers around here but rarely ever see them except at night to bad we cant hunt at night here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gifBut if you can hunt at night where you live that might be your best bet.I saw probably 15 dens in the ditch and on the edge of fields today.I didnt see any badgers though.I mainly hunt them by scouting out in prairie dog towns to find their dens.I just remember where they are and hope to catch them out sunning themselves on a cold but sunny day.I have heard that calling them out with high pitched distress sounds works but I havent ever tryed it before but I plan on trying it one of these days.Look for the dens in prairie dog towns and low cut fields.Badgers also like to dig under irrogation pipes and farm equipment leaving tractors and such useless so you might be able to get permission from a farmer by telling him your wanting to shoot badgers.I know alot of farmers hate them because if they dig under a tractor tire the tractor becomes stuck. They like eating rats, mice, ground squirrels and even rattlesnakes. So if you know of a place that has alot of ground squirrels that might be a good place to look.I hope this helps you at all and another thing: be careful I have heard they get pretty mean when cornered so make sure their dead before you pick em up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gifGood luck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
