Barnett Crossbow Problem

Two weeks ago, I purchased a new Barnett Quad 400 crossbow with a red dot scope. The fifth or sixth time I shot it,something broke inside the scope, rendering it useless. The following day I called Barnett and informed them what had happened. They had me return the scope and the scope mount. They received it back at their headquarters on 9/3. Today, 9/10, I called to check on the status and was told that nothing had been done about it, and not to expect a quick turnaround, as they repaired items in the order in which they were received. Now, that part I do understand, but this was a brand new bow that lasted less than one day, and for it to break and then take weeks to be repaired, is totally unacceptable to me. I am used to great customer service from companies like Foxpro, places that go out of their way to please the customer, and more importantly, do what is right. I am writing this to tell anyone looking to buy a crossbow, not to buy a Barnett, as I find they do not have good customer service. To be honest, this was a very cheap made scope, and from what I have been able to gather, is prone to failure. Now, I know that one man's unhappiness with a product, probably makes no difference at all, and most of you could care less. But, you can be assured that I will sell this crossbow ASAP and buy another brand, one that hopefully is of better quality and has better service.

mailman, that's bad, but I've read some stories about Barnett's CS and it seems they suck. I once gave thought to buying a Barnett XBOW, but I wouldn't have one if it was free.

308man, I know that things break and that a new part can break just as easily as an old one. However, when that happens a REPUTABLE company should replace the broken part without any delay whatsoever. When I called Barnett and told them what had happened, they should have had a new scope on the way to me on that afternoon's UPS truck. Last year, I had trouble with a Foxpro Scorpion call that I had owned for about a year and a half. I came on this site and expressed my displeasure with the problems I had with the call. Mike Dillon of Foxpro PMed me and got my phone number and we talked about my problem. The very SAME day that we talked, he had a new call shipped out to me. That is what I call service, and I will always be a big supporter of their company. I have talked to several people about my Barnett bow, and from what I have been told, they are extremely slow about repairing or replacing broken items. I could understand this if that item had been abused, or was several years old, but on a brand new scope.....they should put that at the top of their list. I can only come to one conclusion, and that is that once an item is out the door....it's your problem, not their's.
