My Model 1 upper came with a ER Shaw barrel. I ordered it with the 1-14" twist so I could make most use out of 40- 55 grain bullets. And it sure does shoot. I have shot a whole magazine (20 shots) into less than an inch with both the 50 grain Vmax and 50 grain Nosler BT. It really did suprise me how well it shoots. I bought this one after seeing how well a friend's shot. He was taking prairie dogs on the other side of 500 yards with his. I was there watching him. Another guy on this forum, 204Dude, was spotting for him. He can verify this to be true.
I have heard that the Shaw barrels can be excellent shooters or so-so shooters. I think that Billy and I got excellent shooters. Maybe we were just lucky.
Oh, and I have a custom bolt gun with a Krieger barrel on it. It shoots better than the Shaw barrel, but at more than twice the price, it ought to.
