Barrel crown blemish

What would you do? Should i get this thing re-crowned? I won't mention what brand it is, I'm not gonna bash anyone. Barrel maker said that theyd fix it. I had them blast the barrel and they've obviously blasted the crown as well but not evenly. I'm not getting groups from this barrel like I think I should be. Does this look like it could be affecting groups? I think I'd rather have a machined crown, not blasted..

To be honest with you, it doesn't look like much of anything to be concerned about. Like you said in the topic title, its a "blemish".Meaning an exterior eye sore

I would have it re-crowned with an 11 degree competition crown...If the gas behind the bullet is not evenly spread as it leaves the muzzle, it will affect your accuracy...But on the other hand, if the barrel/chamber is not cut properly, a new crown will not make much improvement..
 
I can't really see the bevel on the crown. It may or may not be a problem. If the mfr is willing to recrown it, I'd do as OT suggests - put an 11 degree target crown on. However, if possible, I'd ask them to put whatever finish you want on the end of the barrel first.

im hoping they plugged the end of the barrel before blasting the crown! that would suck if they didnt. maybe their plug was in the way as they blasted and thats what made the blemish?

if it was a blemish anywhere else on the barrel id just live with it. but on the crown, no. im going to send this thing in for a touch up with the target crown with no blasting. if i dont then the crown blemish will always be in the back of my head while shooting it...
 
Sometimes it don't take much on the crown to make a difference.I had one that felt like it had a rough spot.Smoothed it up with a marble and real fine sand paper.Tightened groups by at least a third.I would never thought it would make that much difference.He another rifle at my buddy's who is a good smith and while he was checking the chamber he cut a new crown.Really helped that rifle also.I guess it don't take much to make a difference.
