Barrel length vs. dB noise reduction

Scenario...
Two AR-15 rifles, identical make, model, and caliber (.223/5.56). One equipped with a 16" barrel, the other with a 20" barrel. Both shooting the same factory ammo. Both wearing the same suppressor (make, model, etc.).

Unsuppressed, most will agree that the 16" rifle is considerably louder than its' 20" counterpart. (Evidence of such is well documented.)

But when suppressed, will the noise level of the 16" be reduced to the same approximate level as the 20"? In other words, the two rifles produce noise at a similar dB level.

Or will there still be a considerable difference between the two? (Both rifles will be much quieter because of the suppressors, but the 16" will still be noticeably louder than the 20".)

16-20 would take a pretty keen ear to hear the difference. It's not going to be much.
Now if you were running a 10" SBR...then you're going to notice.

It does take a pretty keen ear and i run mine on a 10.5" also with not very much difference in the report..

Have you ever shot them in low light or dark to see how much difference you have in muzzle flash between the SBR and others with your suppressor of choice?
I've seen the difference greatly dependent on both barrel length and suppressor design.

I have alot of Low light or no light suppressed shooting with nods.
Most of the time running a SBR.
SF is one of the best. Zero flash with nods on. Not quiet, but works great with NODS.

TBAC 223A was also very good. Little to no flash.

I never ran anything over 11.5" suppressed with nods.
I would like to try some SAS stuff as well, but haven't made time to do that.
