barrel threading

That seems high to me. The place that did mine charges $75 for your first one and $50 thereafter. I now have had seven barrels threaded for my suppressor.

Ask how they thread. If they run the barrel through the headstock of the lathe, a new crown takes 1 minute to complete, money well spent.

.. Wilco !

(& tks,,, back to the original thread)

What I see is normally $75-125 throughout the country.

Just remember you don't always want the least expensive place (think least expensive tattoo)...you want the best quality. Sure I'd love to save some money, but at the end of the day I want concentric threads especially when I'll be using a suppressor.

properly dialing in a barrel takes much longer than 1 min. to recrown a barrel the barrel must be dialed in to zero run out for the best results. I run all my barrels through the headstock, and I dil in directly off the bore in two places for crowns. when I install a muzzle brake I do this the same way. I want the bullet to fly directly through the middle of the brake. as most of you well know, the bore of a barrel is rarely straight and sometimes extremely crooked compared to the outside barrel taper. proper gun work takes time to be done properly, and nothing about rifle work should be taken lightly, and rifle work should never be preformed in any other mind set. just my shops practice anyway! After 10mins of dialing the bore in, 5mins of cutting the old crown out, then 1 min for the new crown.

this is the correct way to get work done, and most people don't care, they want cheap and quick turn around.

I often see people say to make sure the smith knows the threading is for a suppressor. Why would barrel setup be different for threading for a suppressor than a muzzle brake? Is there some reason a brake doesn't need to concentric to the bore also?
