What power range are you looking for. In a 3-9 you can get some of the best for $300 and under. For higher magnification the good options are fewer. Mueller 4.5-14x40 for about $130 shipped. From there a Redfield 4x12 for about $200 (no parallax adjustment). I bought a Pentax Pioneer 4.5-14 from Cameraland for about $140, but they are long gone. Deals change daily so start looking at places like EBay, Amazon, etc. Weekly sales a Dicks and Academy can sometimes be good. I got a Bushnell 3200 Elite 3-9 for $149 at Academy last year.
