Does anybody have any experience with using a bullet drop compensating shotgun scope? I see both Nikon and Bushnell offer them, as do a few others. I am interested in if the different hold dots are accurate at the given yardages? After experimenting with different sabot loads I am skeptical but don't want to miss out if these are the real deal.

just a thought but sounds like a red herrin?????
i mean once you need the bdc seems like you'd be outa range??
heck i don't know just throwing something out there.
i may be missing something here, and i surely don't know what
i'm talking about here but, lets say you're looking at a 175
yd shot OK what would that be a 4 inch hold over? wouldn't need
a bdc for that. what would be the range here for an ethical shot? 200? 250?
i've shot slug guns before and couldn't get any kinda grouping past 100 yds
and decided not to hunt with it. this was 20 years ago and i realize they've come a long way
since then...

I have a Nikon 3-9X Slughunter BDC on my H & R Ultra Slug fully rifled 20 ga.

I shoot Winchester Supreme Partition Gold 260 gr @2000 fps in 3" magnum.

This slug gun, scope and ammunition work very well together. From the bench my usual groups are

Unk, did you try different yardages to see if the point of aim was correct for the greater distance? I agree on only taking ethical shots, but I also like to practice during the off season and some " long range " shooting is fun too.
