What is everyone's opinion on Bear Creek AR parts, specifically side charging uppers and also barrels? They seem very reasonably priced and look nice. Just curious who has experience with them. Thanks!
I had one of there 223 barrels and now a side charger. I killed a few fox with the 223 and it shot around 1"nothing fancy but good enough to kill critters in my yard

Other than the ok accuracy, does the side charge upper function well? That is what I am mainly concerned with. Thanks!
So far the upper is functioning 100%, I only have a couple hundred rounds through it though but I don't expect any problems, fit and finish is nice, no more gas in the face is priceless
I built my first AR on their side charge upper and the Bear Claw 18" 1-8 twist .223 Wylde barrel. I had no idea what I was doing without the help I got from folks here and what I saw on youtube. It turned out heavy, but it shoots very well with my handloads.
As for the upper functioning, it has been flawless, has fired everything I have run thru it. The only thing I had problems with was the bolt knob working loose. I didn't like the idea of needing an allen wrench to keep it tight or for break down the bolt for cleaning, so I replaced that with a homemade deer antler base knob that I can remove by hand.
I have fired some 2" groups at 400 yards with it. It may not be good enough for GL's tomato patch but it works for me.
Also, I have to give them props for their Veterans Day give away of 5,000 free barrels to veterans ! I got one but have not built on it yet/
