Bears on my Hog Plots

These pics were taken in the last 2 weeks at 2 different properties about 25 miles apart. Both are coming into corn put out for deer. There are hog pics from both locations also on the same nights so I will be hunting them after the holidays.

I hunt alone with nightvision and rarely use a flashlight for anything other than checking for snakes when doing anything that places my hands near the ground in hot weather. I'm thinking about mounting a 500 lumen Tac light on my rail so I can light one of these guys up if we end up in the same place at the same time.

Anybody know how a bear might react to bright light? (If one gets real close I might be emitting a foul odor also.)

Seems like black bears tend towards flight rather than flight in most cases, so light might get his attention and send him off. However, it might not be a bad idea to have some bear spray just in case one decides to head for the light at the end of the tunnel.

When we had them start showing up on our feeder game cams, we notified the FWC Officers we work with about it and they came in and trapped two of the bears and relocated them.

One of these parcels is adjacent to 500k acres of military property. It is now heavily populated with black bears so trapping and relocating would not be feasible. We are just having to learn how to deal with them.

These are the ones they are concerned about. This pic was taken by a friend in his back yard a few weeks ago. He lives in a densely populated neighborhood on a golf course.

There are lots of black bears in Florida, adults are 300-350 pound with an occasional garbage grubber getting up to 600 pounds.
