Picked up a Beretta Neos .22LR semi-auto with the 4.5" barrel last week brand new from Gander Mountain. Took it to the range yesterday to see how it performed. Fired 4 different types of ammunition through it. All from a seated/gun resting on bag position with target at approx 10yards away using the factory iron sights. After making a few adjustments to the sights, I started with the testing....
Using Federal Blue Box 40 grain solid rated at 1240FPS and bought for $2.29/box.... a 10 shot group...

Using Federal Spitfire 31 grain hollow point rated at 1500FPS and bought for $2.99/box.... a 10 shot group....

A second 10 shot group...

Using CCI Velocitor 40 grain hollow point rated at 1435FPS and bought for $6.99/box... a 10 shot group...

Using CCI Stinger 32 grain hollow point rated at 1640FPS and bought for $6.99/box... a 10 shot group...

Then another 10 shot group (the ones closest to the bullseye) using the CCI stingers...

All in all it was a good day. Fired over 200 rounds through the gun, which was brand new, pulled from the box. I had stripped it down when I bought it, but there was no grease or any other buildup on it so I just put it back together and took it to the range. Not a single failure to fire, failure to feed, or failure to eject. I'll strip the gun and clean it before the next time I take it out.
The CCI Stinger's seem to be the most accurate so far, but the price doesn't excite me. The Federal Spitfire's did well for their price, so as of right now they'll probably be my go to ammo to grab. I'll leave the Federal Blue Box and CCI Velocitors sitting on the shelf.
I'm going to go to Wal-Mart and grab some different ammo types and try it again this next week. I'll post my results when I do.
