Not sure if I should have posted this in the handloading section, but I was wanting to know how these slugs have preformed out of factory barrels? I'm just now getting around to working up a load for my Remington 700. Remington factory loads with the 25 gr hornady hp have worked very well, so I'm planing on using a similar bullet for my hand loads. I have some 25 gr fbhp from the woodchuck den and noticed the Berger varmint 25 gr bullets are in stock and thought I would test both side by side. How has this bullet preformed for you guys out of factory barrels, and has it done well on game?
Thanks lb

I have been shooting a factory Rem 700 in 17 rem since 1986. Started with the Horn 25 hp and shot several hundred red fox decent on fox when compared to the 223,22-250. Switched to the berger 25 varmint in 1991 shot probably 1000 red fox with it. Tried calhoons different 20 grainers( not good) the vmax bullets always end up back to the 25berger varmint. Load to 3900 -4000 shoot fox sized critters between 50 and 200 yards and it hard to find entrance or exits however it is not the best coyote bullet but the hornady 25 hp is good.
