Berger Bullets

Did they go out of business? Where the #@%& are all the dang bullets? I looked on every site google pulled up for some 6MM 80 grain bullets and every site was out of stock. I can't remember that last time I saw yellow box's on the shelves with exception to Bass Pro, they have a few box's of 6.5mm bullets. I use to kinda understand the component shortage but now I'm not to sure I do. Its been going on a long time now. Doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Not out of business. I have had a bit of trouble locating what I need, but I also have got some others that I wanted. Midway seems to have a lot in stock but not the 80s you were referring. I seldom look on the shelves any more because it's easier to order things, and the selection is usually better anyway.

ETA: Bill, everyone is hoarding up stuff because of the prior lack of inventory. Not sure it will ever return to what it was.

Sorry guys I was just aggravated. Seems you get a good load worked up then can't find components. Not like its the first time. I've been working on my Ruger No. 1 and I had a commitment to myself to make it shoot without doing a bunch of "Tricks" to make it shoot. The 80 grain Bergers got me well under an inch and now I'm getting low on them. Oh well, it it shoots them there is something else out there that may shoot just as good, maybe better.

What twist are you dealing with? Have you tried the 87s yet? Midway has them in stock if that intrigues you at all.......

ETA: Just called my son and he is loading 87s and IMR4064. He said 36gr was getting 2900 +/- out of his Tikka before he started seeing any signs of pressure. I trust his data as I know how he reloads. FWIW. ;)

My gun guy in the business alerted me that Berger has been bought out by lapua and the bullet making production has dropped off ever since the transaction went through. Real sad.

I have all of the Bergers that I need, and that is for several different guns, I have purchased them all from Midway. Just have to sign up for notifications and then pull the trigger as soon as you are notified. They come and go really fast.
