Best AR Mags?

What are the best and where can I get good .223/5.56 AR Mags? I see Midway is selling AR Stoner Alluminum Mags for $10 that get good reviews. What do you AR shooters think? I'm ordering a DTech soon, and I just can't wait for it!

Labelle, Colt & NHMTG magazines are all very good.
Labelle [Teflon coated], being the best of the best IMO.

Check out [Bushmaster] & [Eagle Firearms] site's.

edit; Never used a Stoner, so can't say.

The very best AR mags are the HK's. Downside is: they not readily available and not very cheap ($40.00 per mag).

I normally run green follower mags or self leveling followers such as mag-puls. Bushmaster, Armalite, DPMS, Rock River, & Olympic all provide good mags.

Stick with a good metal mag with one of the aforementioned followers and you'll be fine!

Labelle 10rd. are my favorite bench mags thus far. The tactical/mall ninja crowd gets nutty because they aren't truly "mil-spec" mags, but the quality is far better than any other mag I've used.

I got a Colt 20 round straight mag from the local Army/Navy store the other day for $10. Then I went to Houston and picked up a couple of 30 rounders for $4.95 a piece. These were straight from military use in Iraq. I got one Cooper Industries and a FN. Hadn't heard of these, but if the are mil spec, they can't be too bad, especially for $5 each. I could have bought a whole box for that price.

USGI mags are usually the best of the bunch. And, as was mentioned earlier, you don't have to pay "tactical" prices for them. MI VHNTR

My Bushy lower likes Bushy mags. I've tried a few different ones & I seem to have a problem with the last shot jamming on most. Never with the Bushy mags...5,10,20,30 rounds all work great.

Check the bottom of those Bushmaster mags. Last I checked, they were Labelle mags marked for Bushmaster. These are the same ones I had great luck with if were talking about the same thing.

Here some info I needed a month ago.

All of the G.I. contract 30s work fine, except for some black follower lots of Cooper Industries and some black follower lots of Sanchez (DSI) production. These were recalled for destruction by the military, due to poor tolerances. NEVER buy Coopers or Sanchez, unless they have the later style green followers, since they may be from a bad lot!

I'll have check which Cooper I bought.
