Best Brass for AR's?

I've been using Winchester brass in my AR for the past year and have noticed that my primer pockets are getting loose after 1-2 firings. What would cause this issue? I'm using load data from the latest Hodgdon manual - 55 gr. V-max w/ 25.5 gr. Benchmark.

I see that Midway has 500 ct. Lake City brass for $80.00, is this good stuff for AR's?

What gr of bullet are you using? I use win brass also and I'm on my 5-6 load and primer pockets are still pretty snug. Are you reaming the primer pockets?

Lake city brass is good brass! I don't but it new I look for once fired range brass. Which usually has a crimp in it.

Sorry, I missed posting the bullet weight. I'm shooting the Hornady 55 gr. V-max over 25.5 gr. of Benchmark. The Hodgdon manual shows the max load for this combo at 25.6 gr. of Benchmark. I'm not reaming the primer pockets and I'm using Rem. 7 1/2 primers.

Good to know about the Lake City brass... I'll probably be picking some up. Thanks for the heads-up on Natchez.

Back your load off a tad. Are you getting any pressure signs. Im running 50gr ballistic tip 25.5gr benchmark win brass and have not had a problem at all. Im also running rem 7 1/2 primers.

I do belive I run 25grs for 55NBTs with a Rem 7 1/2 also. I will have to check when I get home been working with TAC so much I forgot that load!

Just checked my phone and Nosler max load for their 55's is 25 of Benchmark! So I agree back your charge down 2/10 and double check the zero on your scale and your powder thrower. When I make a bunch of rounds close to max I always check every 3rd round.

Hmmm just looked at the Hogdgon site and didnt see a load for the 55gr vmax, change the bullet the brass the primer and its a whole new set of variables.

I can't get more then 5 or 6 reloads from any of my Winchester brass in various calibers. I think it's a little on the soft side.
Lately in my AR10 I have been using Lake City, Hornady and Lapua brass and I can easily double the amount of reloads versus the Winchester brass.
