Where I do most of my predator hunting is mainly sage brush and cedars. Was curious to what you guys think is the best camo for this type of country? Been lookin at that Desert Shadow of Kings but I dont know for sure?

Thanks,
Luke

Its mostly personal preference, there are alot of good patterns out there. I usally mix mine, like nat gear pants a hardwoods top if I am sitting up against a cedar. Mostly if you sit still it dont matter much what you wear.

I like the kings that is what i use in idaho. I am even going to have my TC Encore 22-250 dipped in that patten. Works good for this area.

here in southern arizona I like Natural Gear over King's Desert Shadow over Carhart green trousers. If I was to be dipping my TC Encore I would look towards Natural Gear for the rifle. Just my opinion !

I love Natural Gear for anything out west. Years ago I used to use Trebark which they don't make anymore. You would literally disappear in sagebrush with the Trebark. I think the Kings Desert would be good also. Always wanted to try the ASAT, but have been happy with the Natsgear and didn't like the price of the ASAT.

I use a few different types. To be honest I don't see much of a difference. Moving gets you busted.

I think you could use WWII camo and be just fine.

My warm weather stuff is Seclusion 3-D Open Country out here in West Nebraska, my cold weather/possible snow camo is the Outfitter High Plains camo. Wooltimate Windshear. Super warm for sitting, gets a little hot when walking a lot though.

I think Predator Camo is probably the most versatile. Breaks up your outline no matter where you are. Lately I've been sporting some Seclusion 3D Open Country and it seems to be working pretty well.

And like many have said, as long as you aren't moving, it doesn't matter all that much. Other side of the coin, if you are moving, no camo in the world is going to work for you.

If there is a camo out there for the Western States, I have tried it. There are many great patterns available today. The three patterns I use the most are "King's Desert Shadow", "King's Snow Shadow", and "Advantage Max 1". All of these patterns seem to work well in the sage, cedars, buck brush, and even pines. I think the major factors in good camo clothing are versatility and functionality. If you have a great camo pattern, but can never find that pattern in a pair of pants with enough pockets or that last longer than three months, then what good is it. I have found the King's to be some of the most functional hunting clothing on the market. It's durable and has been designed with the hunter in mind. Do as I did, try a pair of King's to see what you think. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Been useing the same( inespensive) nat gear from walmart for about 8 years now, ( lots of patching by the wife) , getting really faded out and that even makes it better , top it off with a 3/4 length ghillie from shaggie and a coyote will just walk on by . kill most at 50 or less even in wide open country its the right gear for me .when its cold out just a pair of carhart bibs and coat ( tan) and the ghillie same results. The 3/4 shaggie is worth its weight in gold , a buddy of mine finally talked me into useing it after three years of badgering me , i wouldnt set a stand without it now its that good .Ask anyone that uses one and im sure youll get the same answer. they will literally walk right by you and never see you if you dont move .
