I have one of these (mine says 1/2 MOA adjustments). It is a good, light/bright AR scope.

That said, I'll have to admit that I carry a lot more scope most of the time....along with the red dot on a RAMP.

I wouldn't consider it for close range either, but the XTR 1x4x24 is great for close range and out to 300.

+1

Also, the newer M-223 in either 1-4x20 or the 2X8x32

Or, of you need the higher magnification, look at the Burris timberline series. Theryre available in a 3-9X32 or 4.5-14x32 with AO. Pretty good optics.

I really like the M223 in 2-8x as well, 2x is good for pretty close range and at 8x I had no problems ringing steel at 500yds. I'm looking to sell mine now since I'm getting more into the competition scene and want a 1-4x.

I have the Nikon M223 3-12x42 600 BDC on a RRA Elite Comp. I love it. I've only shot it out to 250 yards so far, and it hits at that distance great! I plan on getting another AR, I'm not sure what yet. On that I wanted to get a scope that would be just as good on short shots with quick acquisition, long shots, and low light and night shots. I have been looking at the Acog scopes, which look great, and just now am hearing here about the Nightforce scopes. I would like to get whichever is better. If anyone has an opinion I would be glad to hear it.

Curious about what reticles the guys that have the NF 2.5-10x32 are running. I have been looking at these for a while. Interesting post!

Just picked up a 2-7x redfield for my dads rifle, they are having $30 rebate going on right now. I bought a burris tac30 1-4x for my 6.8 build. I'm also trying to sell my m-223 2-8x because I wanted more magnification for prairie dog shooting and got the 3-12x model.
