Best Concealed Carry Holster

You will get a lot of opinions on this one...A lot of the actual results will depend greatly on your body type and the belt that you use with it...

I've always been a fan of the Milt Sparks Versa-Max 2 (with their belt) and have been using their products since the mid '70s, but have also heard some great reviews from some of the newer Kydex type holsters...I've just never bought one after spending the money that I did on the Milt Sparks gear for my Walther P-99...

Some people will buy a good holster (either inside or outside) and then attach it to an every day dress belt and get poor results...IMHO, the belt is the stability anchor for the holster and will make a huge difference in the comfort, as well as the security of the weapon..

Tough question as you will get dozens of answers. I find the IWB holsters have no forward cant so if your build does not tolerate a 4 o'clock carry you will not be happy. I have a Desantis Insider (springfield xd) which is a deep carry holster which the butt sticks up above your belt. It has a belt clip. It costs about $20 and the clip is nice when you have to take it on and off to go into places (schools). The down side to this particular holster is no body shield so if you wear it against your skin, it can rub.

The Bianchi Pro 100 is another clip on with the body shield which is very comfortable. Costs about $50.

Never been a big fan of IWB holsters. Barely can keep my belly IWB!

I carry a S&W J-Frame or 1911 Commander OWB just "around the corner" on my strong side. J-Frame is carried in a Galco and the Kimber 1911 is carried in a Mitch Rosen.

Your decision is going to be mostly personal preference. I have several holsters in a drawer that I didn't like and kept trying things until I got happy.

I will second any comments on holsters from Milt Sparks. I have two OWB's, one for a K-Frame and another for an L-Frame that are fantastic. The only problem with Milt Sparks is the wait time.

First and foremost, get a good belt. I hearily recommend the Instructor 5-stitch belts by Wilderness Tactical (www.thewilderness.com). I use mine for IWB and OWB and love them. The one by VTac looks just as good, but I haven't seen one personally. I use a Kholster (www.kholster.com) IWB holster. It's a relatively inexpensive knock-off of the Crossbreed (which gets rave reviews). It's my only IWB to date and pleased enough with it that I haven't replaced it. At $30 and about a 7-10 delivery time, it's hard to beat.

i have tried some different brands along with shoulder, and personaly i like my rig to be tight...i wear blackhawk BDU belt along with serpa sport holster this setup allows me to set my prefered angle and won't close down when weapon is deployed...i was very please the way the serpa holser spreads the wieght to the belt.....i carry everyday!
however there is 1 bad drawback about this rig... it will make a hole in your trousers in time if you keep the rig in the same place everytime...

Beltman or Galco contour gun belts for me.

Have a new FIST IWB Kydex for a Glock 26. See;

I had mine made with THIN, rather than Ultra Thin Kydex, and Kydex split loop...don't really have enough hours carrying to strongly recommend but like it so far. Reasonable pricing and good workmanship. A close gun toting IDPA friend likes FIST holsters- kydex and leather.

Never owned one but have always heard great things about Milt Sparks Versa-Max II.

After I got my carry gun I thought I needed a good holster. The guy at the gun shop said to try putting it just inside your jeans with the but sticking out. Well that didn't sound right so I bought some holsters. After about a dozen I tried what the guy said and after 5 years I still wear it that way every day dark to dark.

There are many times when I know I'm not going to be carrying for extended periods of time that I will shove one in the waist band of my pants on the strong side with the butt forward...It rides well and is really hard to see, even under a T-shirt...

The major problem is if you are going to somewhere and will be sitting, either frequently or for extended periods, it can work loose and take a tumble when you get up...But, just walking around, it's never been a problem..

Crossbreedholsters.com

Best 68 bucks I ever spent. Fully adjustable, worn it for 18 hours straight with my G23 in it and forgot it was on. Lifetime warranty, two week money back garrantee, if you don't like it send it back, refund no questions asked.

I am sure their is some good comedy in that scenario too.

I never pack a handgun without it being secured in a holster. There are just too many things that can go wrong with that.

Yep.
That is how Steve Malloy got killed. He tucked a pistol in his belt, it fell out and shot him through the chest when it hit the floor.

Jack

I carry my Glock 27 in an inside the pants holster made by Safariland it is also able to fit the Glock 23 .... I been wearing it for about a week now with good results, very comfortable but had to find out just the right spot and now I can wear it for long days with no disomfort...

Safariland: Inside the pants, Model# 27-83-61
