Best grips for big hands?

I'm down to waiting on my timney trigger to arrive from optics planet and my grip choice on my 243 project. I hate the term build because I didn't machine the parts from scratch and own a tool and die shop ...so I didn't build it. Lol... I'm just assembling parts that a company manufured. Don't mean to affend anyone out there but IMO builders own CNC machines and spin barrels. Assembling an AR is like owning a big kids Lincoln log or tinker toy set. It's still fun and exciting but most of us didn't do the real talent of whittling the logs.

Anyways, I have big hands and need a BIG grip. The A2 stock that came on my lower has to be ment for someone with an 8 year olds size hands. I like my moe grip on my POF but when I shoot it I'm am finding that I'm lowering my hand down and holding thumb pocket"I'll call it I guess" out about a good 1/2" to 1" away when I'm shooting. If not my finger would go all the way through past the trigger to the point the trigger would rest on my first part of my finger joint.

I was looking at the magpul miad to try but would rather have a one piece grip and stand of parts that can come loose in time. I didn't rul out the miad yet but I ended up ordering an ATi scorpion to try. When i first looked at them on line they looked like the goofiest set up with the beaver tail hanging way out the end. The past day the looks started growing on me so I ordered on to try. The place I ordered it has free shipping and returns so I don't like it it's going back. The scorpion looks like it's probably the widest grip out there so I rolled the $22 worth of dice to try it. I found it cheaper on line but not with free returns and I wanted that option if I absolutely hate it. I kinda liked the looks of the finger gripped Ergo as well. The last one that interested me was the ergo with the flat base on the end. I figured it would feel good initiative my hand but I don't think I could ever get used to the look of the flat base. Guess I live in too small of a town being the only place we have here is a gander with nothing but Moe grips in stock with no Miads and one other place with the plain moe grip which I already own.

What do you large hand shooters use?.

I also have very large hands. I have several of these Blackhawk grips and they seem to fit me fairly well. They are about 3 1/4 inches from the bottom of trigger guard to end of the grip and about 2 inches from front to back.

I use an ergo, and it is better than MOE, but still doesn't fill the hand or keep your finger from wrapping around the trigger. I haven't tried anything else. I do think the ergo is a big improvement from the MOE.

The UTG Combat Sniper grip is nice and big. I have them on a couple of mine and although they’re a little heavy they make for a nice firm grip with their large palm swell and deep finger grooves.

I have Ergo's, with the palm swell, on all of mine as well! Let us know how you like the scorpion that you ordered.

I came today. I'll talk about the pros first. It fits my hand almost perfect. I wish it was a hair bigger yet in diameter as my finger still feels a hair to long so I just arch my finger out to fit it on my finger tip like I would do if I shoot a bolt gun.

It feels extremely comfortable and awesome in my hand.

So for the negatives. It's really hard to flip my safety with my thumb. Almost impossible so I have to either take my hand off the grip or do it with my other hand.

The quality control is horrible. Maybe I just got a dud. The outside of the hard plastic had some scuffs. I would rather put them in myself after some hard use instead of buying it that way. The grip has a huge burr and someone tried to grind it off and it's still there with a big Gouge on the outside. The burr keeps it from mounting the front and rear flush. There are chunks of rubber that were comming off the inside if the back part of the handle and was literally jammed together with about an inch of gap like someone tried to assemble it and couldn't get it to go together. It's all on the inside so you really can't see it. Kinda looks like a dog chewed on it. I just worry long term how it will hold up. Also there are little flaps of rubber hanging on it everywhere like cast bullet finning. All in all I love the way it feels and emailed the company hoping they would replace it with one that looks nice. The fit and feel in my hand is A1 it just looks like crap with all the flaws. I'm hoping I just received a dud and the company sends me a good one. Even with all the quality control issues I still like it and tell you it feels great in the hand and would recommend one as long as you get a good quality grip out the gate. I realize it was only $22 but I would expect better quality. I could buy a magpul moe that is flawless for the same price but it wouldn't feel anywhere as comfortable as this grip.

Get the epoxy or bondo out, along with the dremel.

Have three good friends that shoot free pistol on the USA team. Their grips have blobs of bondo and epoxy all over the place in various colors. Looks like the under side of an old restaurant table with gum stuck to it,lol.

Get rid of that awful factory safety lever....Radian Weapons makes a VERY nice ambi upgrade...no more reaching for that safety.

I'd have to do it with the grip I removed being this grip has a soft rubber insert. Eventually it's not going to hold up and crack off anyways. I'll end up running a x2 grip...just not this poorly manufactured one. It really dose feel great in the hand and I'm sure the soft rubber insert in the rear will aborb some recoil.

I now see where he mentioned the ATI in his post. I don't know if there is some problem with my access on this forum, but I don't see 1 single picture or link to one in any post???????????
