Im on the market to get a lower reciever for my upper. Im just talking about best stock company lower. I am looking at getting a Rock River Arms lower with the 2 stage trigger. Good? Bad? Any and all info is appreciated. Thanks

Ive been told that all the lower receivers are made by only 3-4 different manufactures and just re-branded by the many individual companys. That being said, most any forged lower is going to be decent. The RRA lower and the NM trigger is a good combo.

It is true that a small number of companies make the majority of the forged lowers, but they are not all the same. Just about every RRA, Bushmaster, DPMS receivers I have had or shot have had a decent amount of play in the receivers. This is why there is a market for Accuwedges. The POF and Spikes receivers I have fit together so tightly that you need something to punch out the take down pins. Some people might not mind the wiggle, but I would much rather have a tightly fitting set of receivers when it comes to accuracy.

It depends on what you want to spend on one, they all do the exact same thing. Personally I see no reason to spend more than $80-$100 on a lower, unless you think you are going to resale it, even then I don't think you can get much of a premium for a roll mark on a lower. It may help it sell faster though. I paid $120 for a Stag lower three years ago, since then the only lowers I have bought are Palmetto, I think the finish on them is better than the Stag and they only cost me $50.

I really like the Tactical Inovation lowers, they have a couple extra features that most other lowers don't have.

The detent capturing feature is nice as well as the tension screw for the upper. For $100 it saves you the labor of tapping the detent hole. Good link.

To the OP, I would think that as long as the lower is mil-spec (and I believe they all are with the exception of Colt and their FCG pin holes), any lower will do. If you plan to, or think you will, resell the rifle then get a name brand. I've had people look at me funny because I had a SAA lower or a Superior Arms lower vs RRA or DMPS, etc.

Hope this helps.
