Best Place to Buy Expensive Binoculars

I made a BIG mistake and looked through a friend's Swarovskis... now I want some of similar quality (Swaros, Leica, Zeiss...).

Besides Bass Pro, Cabelas and Ebay, does anyone know of the place to order this caliber of binoculars at a good price?

I have checked Bear Basin and they are good, but I was hoping to find a deeper discount (wholesale?) source.

Thanks for any tips you might have.

you're not going to find much of a discount on any of these products unless you go grey market. And you probably don't want to go there - no service here in the states - you have to send them back to the manufacturer at your own expense and then pay for shipping back after they figure out what is wrong.
Do yourself a favor and step up and buy where you can get service. I looked into those cheaper sellers and wasn't sure I would even get the product for my money. They're kind of flakey sounding.

We are not the only people in the world that use binoculars. Birders probably use them more than we do. I've found that staying off the hunting optics sites is your best bet. Look in at the camera and birds watching sites/stores. A few years ago I ran apon a screamin' deal on my Swarovski's in the used optics section of B&H's website.

swfa.com will price match 110% any price you find on the internet. They are a reputable company and I have bought a # of quailty optics from them. Also check out samplelist.com it is operated by swfa.com and it has a buch of demos on there that are in good shape. Their descriptions are accurate and you can find some good deals. This time of year is good b/c they have a lot of things on the sample list that were used as demos at the Shot Show. Hope this helps, I am not knockin the sponsors of this sight at all I am sure they are very good I am just giving an opinion on service I have received.

Bear Basin is also one of our sponsors & I have bought optics from them several times over the years with no issues at all. Be sure to hit their banner & give them a look.

Shopping around will certainly help. Sometimes a good buy is lurking where you don't expect it, or even better you find that once in a lifetime buy a week after making a purchase. I have made purchases at many of the sponsors on this board. Maybe more times at Bear Basin. Many guys overlook their bargain basement http://www.clearanceoptics.com/ which has a few pairs of sworovski's listed. Might check it out. Good Luck

Amen to that. My parents are big birders and buy all of their optics from: http://www.eagleoptics.com/

Camera Land in New York City....just ask for Doug. They will beat any price and their service and follow up is excellent. I have bought 2 Leica rangefinders from Doug.

For premium quality glass, one cannot beat Rockstad Enterprises 405/434-3567. They specialize in Leica , Zeiss and Swarovski glass and have unmatched service on their products.

Swfa, or Bear Basin Outfitters (one of the largest Leica dealers anywhere). Both are great. Check out the Sample list on SWFA, they have some great deals.

I've found most of the high-end glass makers must lock their retailers in on their products. Not much variation. I'm sure you can pay more but it looks like the bottom end is pretty locked in. I try to support my local folks when I need better glass. Seems the prices are the same anyway.

Amyone else notice that? Anyone actually found an outfit that really beats the normal low price?

Lately Sportsman Warehouse has met the prices found on the internet. At one time internet sites could beat ANY local store, sometimes by hundreds of dollars. I think most of those days are gone.
