Best place to get a safe

If you happen to have a Sutherlands out there hit them up. They keep an isle full of small starter safes to the top line giant gun safes from several MFGs. On top of that they are priced very good and plenty sale specials.

In the Los Angeles area, we have a large safe retailer (Dean Safes). Two or three times a year, they offer "seconds" for sale at 40-60% off retail. These safes are only scratched or lightly dented on the exterior and have no effect on a safe's strength or functionality. You might check to see if safe retailers in the Phoenix area have the same type of sales and put yourself on their mailing list.

Up the road you can get one from Sportsman's.. But I would watch the Youtube video to see what is wrong with the cheap ones and bring a large screw driver with you to check the door, and security of the pins (testing that deflection)
i would start with checking the local Costco and see if they have one. (would be a good deal)

As for installation, you can get two furniture dolly's from harbor Freight for $8 each. and roll it into where you want it.
I would suggest that you set it on a 1" pressure treated board, or stained Oak, to allow for air under it, and prevent rusting through the bottom and in case of a spill. You can bolt through the board if you feel it necessary.
