Best Powder Selection for 300 WSM

What powder would you guys recommend for the 300 wsm shooting 165 grain Hornady SST's or 168 grain Sierra hpbt's? I have used H380, IMR 4350, and H4895 with marginal results. Any suggestions?

A friend has had very good results using WInchester WXR. I do not know his load data, but I have shot some very impressive groups with it at the range.

Alliant Reloader 22 has some 165 gr. Barnes XLC bullets going
into sub MOA groups, in my rifle. Someone recommended this
powder to me, when I was struggling with this same issue. It
was a BIG improvement. If I remember correctly, one of the
poor showings was with H4350, for me also. RL22 is worth a
try. I have read others recommend it for 300 WSM, for heavier
bullets, too.

Winchester WXR powder has been discontinued. I just switched to IMR4007ssc the new powder developed for short mags. Uses about 12% less powder to get the same velocity with less pressure and recoil!!!!

I load 165 & 180 grn bullets for my 300WSM & I have been happy with H 4350. One of the 4350's is a popular choice with 165-180 bullets. The only other powder I used was H 4895 with some light starter 150&165grn loads.

I just started loading the 300WSM this year and the first powder I tried was H4831SC. Accuracy was superb though I have not run them over the chrono yet. This is in a 17" barrel, BTW.

Like WunderDog, I'm also using H4831sc. A max dose under a 180 grain partition gets me right at 2950 fps over my little chrony and groups are about 1" to 1-1/4". I've shot this load at clay targets at 550 yards and was hitting about 3 out of 5. Not bad for a sporter weight with a 3-9x scope!
