best scope for under $200 please help

just put this on the hunting forum and realized that this is the best place for this question. Sorry admin/mods.

Just ordered a new Savage 22-250 it should be in next Wed. I need to put a new scope on it.

Where I hunt the absolute furthest shot wil be 300 yards.

So what do yall recommend? should I go with a x14 or more or stay with a 10x.

I know I want x50mm just not convinced on the 40mm lense. Unless someone can explain what I should look at a 40mm.

I was in Cabelas in Lacey WA and they still had some Elite 4200 3x9x40mm for $199.00 doubt if you can find a better scope for the momey. 4200 40mm glass will out shine any 50mm for under $200 that I can think of.

You might want to look at some of the new Vortex Crossfires.

There was just a thread called 40 vs 50 mm you might want to look at that.
 
bushnell elites will be good to look at and also look at the burris fullfield II. I would rather have a 40mm objective but that is me.

I have the Elite 4200 3-9X40 on my 243, very bright optics.. you can't go wrong with this scope.. if Cabelas is out you can always get one at optics planet for around 230.00 free shipping
 
Try the Redfield 4-12 with the accu-range reticule it will help you get the most out of your 22-250. I have killed many coyotes in very low light conditions with this scope. You can shoot out to 400 Yrd's with no turning of knobs.
 
Here is a brand seldom mentioned, but name has been around for a long time. Over last few years have bought a few of them for centerfire rifles and have had no problems with them. Decent glass in them....made in S. Korea. Worth a look.

bass pro doesnt have the redfield 4x12x40 with the accu range only 4plex.

I bought the redfield 3 x 9 x 50mm with the accu reticle and am loving it.

Yes the elite 4200 was very sweet.

But I wanted to buy American. My 19 year old son asked to try hard to buy American from now on. He says and it is true that if we all purchased American made goods we would get our economy kicked back up.

So Redfield filled the bill.
 
i also looked on natchez.... you can get a burris fullfield II with ballistic plex for 169.00 and it comes with a cheapo gps. The gps unit is pretty forgettable but the 169.00 is pretty low for a burris FFII
