Best shotgun for the money

Cleaning is no more of a chore with the 935 than the Remy. Reliability seems to be pretty good. Mine stays in the bottom of my canoe (usually in a lil water) when waterfowl hunting and I havent had any malfunctions yet. Some have had issues with the firing pin on the older models but I think they have fixed that.

ive got the sbe 2.... love it,that being said i got to shoot the beretta exrema 2... id buy one in a heartbeat!

you can pick up used sbe 1's in the 700-800$ range fairly easy.. id go that route if it was me!

That's good to know info on the 935 thank you. As for used sbe 1's or 2's we don't see used up here ever, I don't think i've seen 1 in the last 3 yrs. So that makes it hard to even consider. I am going to try one of these 935's and see what they are like.

I`ve got a 500 I have used for around 20 years. One of their first camo jobs. I have used it as a canoe paddle, dropped it in the river, and once as a crutch. It has never failed me.

Some years ago I got a wild hair and bought a Franchi Variomax. No turkey or goose that ever flew was worth the pounding that thing delivered with 3 1/2 loads...Traded it on a CZ 527.

I almost bought one of the Mossberg 535 last year..but my son beat me to it...Kinda glad he did. I really like the fit and size of the gun, but it weighs about a pound less than my old 500...Delivers a powerful thump on both ends!

I will 2nd the thump from the 535 and 835 using 3 1/2s! The 935 tames it down a bit but 3 1/2s are still 3 1/2s so be prepared for a "little" nudge if you are using the big boys regardless.

Beagler, that might actually be what I was thinking of. I knew that they had some problem early on with an internal part breaking but I wasn't 100% sure what it was. I am almost positive that that issue has been resolved by mossberg on the later models, ie in the last 2 years.

I got the 935 I was looking at. I like it so far. I took it all down, even further then the book reccomended and gave it a good cleaning and dry lube. It was pretty simple once you got going. All together it's a nice gun. I'm happy with it

Totally agree. Unbeatable for the price. Benelli action and less than half the cost of a Benelli. Comes with a full set of chokes including turkey. Awesome.

Mr. Coyote found himself on the wrong end of my Stoeger just last weekend. 00 buck smarts a little bit at 40 yards, doesn't it Mr. Coyote. He never knew that he wasn't getting whacked with a $1000+++ shotgun, he just got whacked and when he moved again, he got whacked again. I loooooooove autoloaders.

And before someone comes on saying their brother in law bought one and it jammed, tell your brother in law to read the freaking manual and install the washer/retainer on the forend in the correct orientation. It's all in the manual, genius. Putting a gun together wrong isn't the gun's fault. I've seen this issue come up twice with idiots badmouthing the Stoeger and then as soon as their error is pointed out, they aren't heard from again. RTFM.
