best time of day for groundhogs

Have hunted G-hogs for about 50 years in north central Ohio, without a doubt the better time is in the evenings starting about 4 PM! Hotter days you will see them later in the day! In early years it was not uncommon to shoot close to 300 a summer! Now since the farming has cleaned the fence rows and planting to the roads edge, they are not so plentiful!!

what's the best time to be out, I live in western PA?

I killed twenty in 8 hours in 94 degree heat no rhyme or reason this was August 25 in Ohio.A bonus was a female coyote nursing obviously that tried to steal a groundhog but instead got slammed at 150 with a 17 hornet.

I'm just about at 300 this year, but I have about 4,000 acres secured; .I save my brass so there's no guessing games as to numbers, still have October and most of November to go.
