The Arctic Extremes are good. They are stiff but they are wind proof. They will work good in the temps you described. If all your wearing is cotton jeans underneath then maybe not. I wear polyester long Johns Oct-April. One thing nice about them is they aren't any noiseier at 50 below than they are at 20 above. Much of the wind and water proof gear out uses a waterproof layer that will break apart inside the garment at 30 below or colder. As noisy as dragging a blue tarp around with you. But they are OK from 10 below and warmer.The Arctic Extremes by Carhart will last for many years. I've wore mine in Prudhoe when it was 100 below combined. No I wasn't too hot but I got er done.
