Best way to SNOW Camo a gun??

What is the most durable way to SNOW camo an entire rifle? Barrel, Stock, Scope, Rings, Mounts, etc.

Is there anyone that sells a white sling?

Preferably as inexpensive as possible.

I assume you can do the same to a Bi-Pod?

I don't want to use tape or anything sticky, and I have a set of Beartooth neoprene snow camo kit.

Something with no glare, either.

Thanks

As far as the sling......I usually make my own. You can order online or go to a craft store and buy nylon webbing. Not hard to stitch and made to order in any color you want.

Cheap and durrable don't normaly go together. For durable I would do it all in Cerakote, Having it done in a camo pattern would run about $275. For cheap you could go with the old Krylon method knowing you will have to redo it regularly.

I've used the snakeskin that sticks to itself. I've only found it in camo. But what I do is wrap the gun and then if there is snow on the ground then I go to wally world and get some white athletic tape and just roll some on leaving some of the camo exposed. It really breaks up the gun. And if you want to hunt when there is no snow then you don't have to worry. Just pull the white tape off. And when hunting season is done just roll the tape off and save it until next year.

go to a feed store, buy white leg wrap for horses legs, about 2 dollars a rol, sticks to itself, and doesnt hurt a gun. Some use spray snow, like you see on store windows at chrismas time, then use graffitte off,to clean your gun.
Hope this helps

The Claw company makes a white sling. I have one their awesome.

+1.

I'm not sure if by "durable" you mean permanent, if so have it dipped. Saw an AR done in Winter Mimicry from Mothwing a few days ago. It looked awesome. If I were to dedicate a rifle to snow use, that's what I'd do. I'm not that affluent so I use McNett's camo wrap. It costs about $13 per roll, leaves no residue and it lasts me all season. You can reuse it again also but it may not cling quite as well the second year. I wouldn't leave it on a chrome moly gun all year myself but it works well on my stainless barreled Ar.

Here's a pic of my Ar wrapped. You can do more or less dependinding on your tastes and needs. Good luck.

Yep, horse leg wrap is the way to go. It's like an Ace bandage, sticks only to it's self and removes very easily. So when the winter turns spring, just cut it off with some scissors and you are ready for the green wrap to match the foilage. You can get it at any farm or tack supply store.

Just don't camo it. I've yet to have a coyote dead or alive wonder what color my rifle is. Movement is what busts you not the color of a gun.

I usually don't even wear camo, just jeans and a green or gray shirt. When it's really cold I'll add snow pants and a heavy coat. I'm not out now as much as I used to be but 50 or 60 coyotes a season was not out of line.

I can't remember where, but I read that someone take the worn-out white leggings of their daughter, cuts a hole in the end an slides it over the barrel. Fits good, cheap and temporary. Just an idea.

Cerakote is a sprayed finish available as either a 2 part baked finish (more durable), or a 1 part ambient cure (still very good but just slightly behind the baked finish). It contains a large number of ceramic particles that increase wear resistance, and effectively reenforce the finish to reduce chipping. Once it is on it can't be taken off short of sanding or grit blasting. A single color will typically cost about $200. The minimal difference between single color and camo is that the ambient cure is used for the aditional colors in the camo and as such doesn't need to be batch mixed. Also the prep work for either solid or camo is the same. It is available in White.

Thanks for the info!

Is there any reputable source that can do the applications on a gun for me that you could tell me about?

How would a baked finish effect a synthetic stock gun?

Here is a pic of my Tikka T3 I camoed up. I used Krylon Fusion Paint and Webbing spray. Also have a white Claw sling. I dont think its really really important to camo the gun but it sure is fun!
