We have about 10 crows south of my house that nead to be disbached. The crow tapes arnt working and i have ran out of ideas, can some one help me kill theys day bats?
if i lived closer i would , i do my best by getting out early in the morning , they sleep high in the trees, and you usually only get to take on shot before the get wise to your tricks,,, tactical Timmy
I've read a couple of ideas, find an owl decoy and black plastic bags tie the bags down but so they will still flutter in the breeze. the crows don't like owls and think the owl is attacking the crows, Also you can use small clear soda or water bottles painted yellow looks like corn cobs from the air. Hopes this helps
GJ, I don't know if it is legal to bait crow in KS, but what i've done in the past is a bag of microwave popcorn. Put it out where you can see it and open the bag just a little. The wind will move the popped stuff around enough for the crows to find. I killed 15 crows on 1 bag of popcorn with an airgun a few years back. Lots of fun! Good luck

I set up about 12 crow decoys and a fake owl I got from Home Depot. One decoy is battery powered and moves, I bought it used on eBay and it works great. I have four crow sounds on my FX-3: Crow Gathering, Dying Crow, Crow/Owl Fight, and Fighting Crows. One of those with the decoys usually brings 'em in. I also blow a mouth crow call while I run the e-caller, too.
Remember, crows see really well and are smart little buggers, so you have to be well concealed with camo and hidden from sight in a blind of some type.
I usually just call them in for my son to shoot at them to have some fun and get some wingshooting practice. We've had best luck with a modified choke. We usually shoot #6's-#8's, just depending on what box of 100 was on sale at Wally World, lol!
NIce set up yea I was going to say that too Camo. Camo is key I actually make a little blind and use an FX3 also. I have found that if you shoot from a concealed area that they do not always spook from the blast. If they are fired up enough I have dropped 3 or 4 crows in the same location within minutes.
You might need to get some other tapes as they probably are wise to your tapes! they are pretty smart and you have some good advice in the previous posts. Good luck!
Try useing rabbit distress calls. We have them come in to see whats got the rabbit. We have gotten a few when one of us carries a shotgun.A moving decoy helps focuse their attention.More often a small group will send a sentry to check it out,and will call in the group if it looks up and up.
I always had lots of crows come around when trying to feed deer....Throw out the corn, here they come, until it's all gone... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
A little horse tail hair & superglue will fix that though. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Using a E caller playing crow fights and crow owl fights always worked great. I honestly cant remember one time that we got blanked. Just remember many times you will just see one crow come flying over but don't shoot at that one because the group will send out a scout and then when he goes back they all come so just stay hidden and don't let them see you till it's time to shoot.
