Bill Springfield trigger work

Has anyone used Bill recently?

Some time in the next 3 to 39 weeks I will be receiving a new rifle and he does trigger work specifically for the gun. It will be a browning bar.

However, I inadvertently came across some very negative and leading info on him when looking for his site and wondered if he is in business?

The way it was written I really think it was just despicable slander but I wanted to confirm that he is in business, and doing ok.

I am not trying to cast aspersions as he always had a great reputation. Just want to be sure I'm not going to be sending it off to have a problem.

Input would be appreciated.

i sent him a beretta neos not long ago and was very disappointed in the results.but he has a money back guarantee and he refunded my money

I had one done... 2 years ago. My arr has been a wallhanger for... About 2 years. A pm member was nice enough to give me a replacement trigger though.

That's not sounding great. I have a very competent local gunsmith, he hasn't messed with bar triggers but I think I'll give him a crack at it first. If he can't figure it out, he won't try. Real honest guy.

Or maybe the trigger won't be that bad to begin with.

Bill always got great reviews then I stumbled on a really bad one and then with searching they came out of the woodwork.

I am happy to see a couple of positive reviews. Definitely want everything to be alright!

Thats how i came across him. I didnt find the bad ones until after i got back from the range, then found a bunch of people who had the same issue as i did. He went into the hit or miss category for me, and in guns that means no more of my money.

If you use him hope he's on a hit day for you.

I had an AR trigger done a few years ago by him and it would either double or not go off at all. I sold it will full disclosure and bought a Geissele SD3G and couldn't be happier.

Same here on the trigger bowhuntr. Mine would rapid fire or no fire at all. I sent the assembly back to him and he corrected the problem. Haven't had any trouble in 2 years out of it now.

One of the gunsmiths on the FAL Files offers a special price on repairing Bill Springfield trigger jobs on FAL rifles. They all seem t start doubling after a few hundred rounds. I think I'd be pretty selective about what I sent to him - and very careful with the gun(s) afterwards.

Hm. He has done an SKS trigger and a PTR91 for me, both the paddle mag release and the trigger, and I couldn't be happier. It took the SKS awhile for the trigger mods to become apparent, but it is slick and easy to shoot well now.

Sorry to hear if his work is going downhill. This saddens me, as he is a super nice guy.

I had him do the two stage trigger in my armalite and am well pleased with the results. This is not a high volume competion or plinker rifle though, so the round count on the worked trigger is not that high. I also had the work done before I started finding the negatives. One day I may put a timney or a geissle in for piece of mind.

I've had 6 triggers done by Bill and all are just fine and all have more than 250 rounds on them. I had to slightly file one to fit and that's been the worst for me.

You can't beat a Timney though.
