I am going to buy a new pair of binoculars and am looking at the Ziess BT conquest 10X30 $520.00, or the vortex vipers 10X42 $490.00.

The plus abought the Vipers is a tripod adapter is $15.00
Down side is there made in china.

The plus abought Zeiss is there made in germany.
Down side the tripod adaper is $160.00.

Any experiance with any of the two I would apriciate.

I have looked at both but not side by side has anyone looked at them side by side.

Wow! I bought a pair of Nikon monarch ATB 8x42(also available in 10 power) They were just at 300. They were highly reccomended and I absolutely love them. Check em out if you are interested in saving a few hundred... I looked at alot of models including the above mentioned and am happy with my choice

My hunting partner has a set of the Ziess Diafun's. I don't think the make them anymore, and I think the conquest replaced them..anyway..I love his diafun's. Light and very clear and bright.

I purchased the same binoculars and am very pleased at the quality associated with the $300 price tag.

I can tell you that anything with Zeiss on it is quality period. Not had those models. Seems like lots of guys are extremely pleased with Nikon also!

Why is a tripod adapter important? Usually a tripod is only needed for 15x to help stabilize. I would go with the Zeiss I have a pair of the 10x40 rubber armoured and they are great! As a hunting guide I see all kinds of glass and the top 3 come out how you would expect. Zeiss, Leicia, and Swarovski not in any order. All the top brands are fine to look at game but to spend hours glassing often at low light every day get the best you can afford. Your eyes will thank you and you will use them more often leading to more game spotted.IMHO

A friend gave me this pair. It's sold by Burris and he got them with the purchase of a Burris ballistic plex rifle scope. I believe they sell for under a hundred bucks and they are simply excellent.

I've got a couple of older Pentex binocs and am pleased with them. Got to say I've never had a really expensive pair, but have stayed at a holiday inn.

I have the Zeiss 10x30 and you wont go wrong with them. I also have several of the Zeiss scopes and you cant beat them either. Very clear glass. Try them you wont be disappointed.
