binocular rubber covers fall off Help

My rubber covers on my binocular cups keep falling off of the the end of the barrel because the rubber has become stretched and loose.

Does anyone know of a method to shrink the rubber so it will be tighter and stay on? I was thinking of trying to shrink it with a hair dryer but not sure if this is the right route.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have some Burris Binoculars that have rubber that goes around the end of the barrel to hold the end caps onto the binoculars. These rubber band things get stretched and will fall off at times. I located the lost cover and put them back on and added one or two drops of Super Glue to hold them in place. I've done this twice over the last 15 years or so.

Coyotehunter,

Thanks for your response. The rubber that goes around the barrel to hold the end caps on is fine. My problem is that the rubber caps that cover the lens on the end is the part that falls off.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Wrap the objective ends with vet wrap or similar product. This will add to the circumference and the rubber should stay on.

Are you asking about the cover for the eye piece or the objective end? If you mean the covers on the objective lens, get rid of them and replace them with Butler Creek scope covers.

I am asking about the part that covers the objective not the eye piece. The vet wrap might work but I am looking for more of a permanent solution. The binocs are Swarovski SLC 8x30.

Thanks

Like I said, buy some Butler Creek scope covers and get rid of the rubber ones. They work great. I never did like the rubber ones.

A friend sent his swaro's in and they replaced them.
Mine wears a set of the Butler Creek scope caps that are set to flip down not blocking my top line of sight. They have been trouble free for a decade.
