I have the Harris model 25 on my rifle and it has always been too short unless I am shooting down hill. Even shootinf on flat ground it don't work and I am only 5'7". Is there any that is better then it? What do you guys do?

They make a 25HBC that is 27" tall. I've used one of those in teh past. I found it was slightly to tall so had them cut the extra 2" down for me. I run the shortened one and two the HB25's that are 25" now if it's tall stuff to shoot over but I do a lot with the HBH that only goes to 23". I'm 5'10" BTW.

A couple inches taller than you and running the tall harris for over 25 years now with no problems. You must be VERY tall in the torso, or not sitting flat on the ground.

This! I have probably 4 Harris bipods and the only one I really use is my short one for when I am dialing in a new reload etc. from a bench. The longer ones are never the right height, whether sitting, standing or laying down. The trigger stick tripod is the one I use and it has been great. Only downside? You have to carry it separately but I just use mine as a walking stick.

I used to use bipods for those "just in case" moments. But, just as KBBGOOD said, it was either too tall or too short. So then I bought another one. Same thing. Pretty soon I had a prone, sitting and standing sizes. It got to be too much gear.

So I downsized. I got rid of the bipod and went to a set of sitting/standing bipod sticks from Polecat, now part of Primos.

Recently I have switched over to the Nightstalker tripod with swivel ball head from Tom Austin over at Night Goggles. It is about as good as any one that I have ever seen and used. Yes, it means that I have to carry it, but it is by far the most versatile, comfy and stable that I have seen short of dragging a bench along with me.

i actually have a primos trigger stick tall bipod id part with pretty cheap. got a tripod and dont use it anymore. pm me if interested

I use the tallest model Harris. It is a bit tall for prone but works. Yet can be extended tall enough to allow for a sitting shot.

I have tried Trigger Sticks....hated them. The Swagger Bipod held promise, but was just too bulky. Harris bipods are great, but limited in usefulness. Homemade sticks range to janky to OK.

The solution for me has been a mounted Harris, usually a 9-13", and a Vanguard Pro B61 Bipod/Shooting stick.
