bird distress hand call

I am still just starting out with pred. hunting and have a couple of hand calls but I would like to get recomondations on a good bird distress call. The only ones I find online are pilated woodpecker calls; will these work for bobcat/coon and 'yotes? Are there other types of bird distress calls?
thanks for any help.

Open reed calls make good Bird destress sounds. And the Ap-6 Bite calls makes awsome bird destress, along with alot of other good destress sounds. Also the JS PC-3 make good destress sounds. Both calls are easy to use and wont take you long to get the hang of.

Also a good Coaxer call with a sweaker voice makes good bird destress. Not a real loud call but will get the job done. There are several call makers that make good coaxer calls.

I agree with KeeKee, if I am trying to make bird sounds I use either of the two he mentioned. The Sceery AP-6 or the JS PC-3, just get out on the end of the bite pieces and clamp down on it and go quick and short, flutter if needed.

The AP-6 is probably my favorite call, it is so easy to use and varies the pitch through a large range of sounds.

Thanks again for the advise, I just ordered the AP-6. It seems like a good all round call. I still have a lot to learn, I'm starting out with an old OT-20 rabbit distress call and wanted a little variaty; I think the AP-6 will be good second call.

The best bird distress calls I found are the Verminator Tweety and Syco Tweety. I use these exclusively. For the beginner they are great since they are so easy to blow.

I like to use the Sceery AP-7 call and "thrill" your tongue to get the quick, vibrating sound. You can do it on just about any open reed call, but I like the pitch control I have with the AP-7. I also like the Tweety, and for a different sound I like the Mini-Blaster by Burnham Bros. You can bite down on it and get a really high pitched sound and make it sound pretty wild. I like it alot, too.

Take care and God Bless,

Rusty
