Just wanted to report that I took my Tikka t-3 lite to the desert yesterday.Trying out the 62 gr. tsx before I turn it on live game.
First I measured out 100 yards with a tape measure. Shooting from sticks sitting with my back against the tire on my car and a 4.5x leupold I shot 25 rounds in 3 shot groups. Pretty much all the groups hovered around MOA 7/8" to 1 1/8". I pulled a couple fliers but I knew when the trigger broke it was a bad shot. Considering the low power optic, 5 mph cross wind, and my lack of skill from shooting sticks, it is safe to say this load easily is shooting MOA.
In addition my usual load is hornaday 55 gr SP that comes in 50 round pack at cabelas for 26 bucks. This load shoots about the same as far as accuracy. I used the ballistics calculator before going and discovered these two loads should have identical trajectory. Sure enough, did not have to change my scope even one click. How sweet is that? Now when I hunt the lead free zone in CA all I have to do is grab the box of ammo with no worry about sighting in again, perfect!
