Bobcat Calling with an electronic caller

Ive had it happen multiple times. All to rabbit distress sounds. Mountain lions as well. Not just electronic callers, hand calls will do it to. Where Im from we have an extremely dense population of black bear. I always expected bear to show up at some point.
Edit to add...hand calling bears was a bit of a passion of mine for a time. Targeting them with a hand call is super fun but can get dangerous pretty quick. Ive had them at arms length and have shot several with a recurve bow while calling. Im not to proud to say Ive lost my nerve a couple times.

Double edit: I am from Central California and the Sierra Mountains is the area Im talking about. I have since moved to Texas.

Thanks for the information. We got a good bit of bears . I would like to figure away to avoid that happening. I want to call the cats out to a logging road where I can pickup the tracks and then come back in a little while to run the cat with my hounds. We have a 3 month season but can run year around.

I have called one bear while predator calling. I was in a brushy creek bottom, specifically targeting bobcats. Raspy jackrabbit was the tune.

Well, there are other sounds cats like that may not attract bears so much. Bird distress is a favorite, also cat vocals are one of my favorites. But really, bear response isnt on the same level as a cat imo so im not sure Id worry about it much. Although it can be relatively "easy" to get them interested in coming to a call, it is not as likely as calling in a cat imo.

we set up in a cut cornfield one night for coyotes. we spotted a bear way at the other end that could care less about the sounds we played as it was to busy filling up on the corn the combine left behind. BUT we kept an eye on it just in case :)

Thanks for the information guys, I will be hunting daylight hours with a remote caller that I Can watch from a good distance hidden on the side of a logging road . If a bear shows up I will stop the call immediately. Even though I Bear hunt in the fall I don't want them to close at other times.Good Hunting
