bobcat size

I'm guessing its all according to where you call home.In Maine they shoot 40+ pounders every winter(usually over hounds).I've shot only 2,one was under 20lbs and the other was around 32lbs.Both were shot over baits(never called one in).A buddy of mine shot one 42lbs a few years ago, very rugged cat.I think that Maine has one of the heaviest recorded bobcats,in the 60 pound range if I remember correctly.

My last cat was a nice Tom. He weighed in at 18.1 pounds on a digital fish scale. He sure felt heavier and I was sure he would be in the 20 + pound range, but just goes to show that they usually feel heavier than they really are. I would say that here in my neck of the woods, that 16-20 pound cats are the norm. Man, I would love to get one of those 40 pounders that Junebugg has up his way.
