Travis,
I guess there are quite a few down in Galia County. I have heard of a few other "locals" saying that they have seen them.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON"T KILL ONE!!!!!!!
They WILL nail you hard /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I'm sure JEFF ERWIN will also remind you about this /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Kinda what i figured!!sometimes seems like laws and regs are only there too make life as little entertaining as possible.Soon as yard bird seasons over Im lookin you up Dusty and yep my wife does work with coyotex.I asked her about his name and it was him.So I sent her back with this knowledge without him knowin,Said she got a couple of dumb looks from and questioning bout her knowin his screen name. And coincidently he only lives bout 4 miles from me.

AW come on now Dustin, some one has to look out for you trigger happy guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Bobcats are A ENDANGED SPECIES IN OHIO. the state is doing a study on their population right now, and are in need of all sitings in the state. they hope with this info, they will have enough data to open a season within the next few years /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

so if ya see one or signs of one, contact Suzie Prange at 740-589-9924 there might be a link to the study on the ODNR website. if ya need a mail addy let me know and I'll get ya one for her. or here's her email addy. Suzie.prnge@dnr.state.oh.us

A while back i was told of a roadkill bobcat in Gallia Co. along Rt.7 somewhere between gallipolis locks and the city of gallipolis. I have no way to prove it.

At the moment I'm sitting in my office at work, and on the wall I've got a picture of a bobcat taken with my trail cam in Harrison County.

They're slowly moving inward from the river couties. I think it's pretty cool.

yes there are plenty... the one that was killed in gallia county on rt 7 was in the area they call the narrows. it was a nice cat... if you stop in at ouslie's general store there they have pictures up.... we have also had many killed on the road on 141 on the lawrence/gallia line... 2 years ago we had 3 hit in a one month period.
my neighbor is repeatedly getting trail camera photos of them on his property and I have called one in while fox hunting at night.
locals are treeing them more and more with there coon hounds too. a man i go to church with just tree'd one about 3 weeks ago with his hounds.

and i know there breeding bc i know of more then one person that has picked up small ones hit on the road by cars...

so to answer your question yes... there are bobcat in southern, ohio and alot more then people think....

i was told by a local game warden (now retired) that they were hoping for a quota or population of atleast 8k before they would open up a season on them. dont know if that is true or not but he said that was the numbers they tried to use on the river otter when they were establishing them back in ohio...

live above marietta and seen 2 this year ohio going have a season next year roomer going around!!!!!had one at 55 yard looking at me!!

One was killed here in Clermont county last year. My neighbors buddy actually found it dead on the road. Ill have to see if i can find the pics.
