Bolt Assembely Chrome vs. Standard(chrome lined)

Just easier to clean.

For me the regular bcg isn't hard to clean in the first place and I shoot a lot and I like them clean.

Nothing wrong with going with the Chrome.

I had a friend who thought going with the Chrome meant he didn't need to lube so he learned the hard way.

I use a CAT m4 tool and that makes cleaning the bcg pretty easy. http://catm4.com/

After a long day at the range I'll drop my bcg in to soak first. I use odorless mineral spirits. And sometimes I'll even use the ultrasonic cleaner.

I have one they do clean easy pretty much just wipes off clean. I had extra money to spend on my build is the only reason I bought it.

That is what I have seen. You just basically wipe all the carbon off the BCG with a cloth whatever and it doesn't need solvents.

I think your decision needs to be based on the type of shooting that you anticipate...In normal hunting circumstances, it may not be worth the extra expense...

I've had a chrome one in my old DPMS for the last ten years, at least and it's shot a lot of high speed, high round count competitions... It's only just now starting to show a couple of minor wear spots on the leading edge of the bolt carrier..

All of the rest that I've owned have had the standard hardened steel carriers and they haven't had the degree of use that my chromed one has and I can see the same wear spots start showing up on them much sooner....

As far as lubrication, either takes about the same amount, but I don't usually run mine really wet, just thoroughly lubed...

carb cleaner has same chemicals as any gun scrubber bore cleaner powder blast. It will not hurt the ar just i have seen it ruin polymer
