Bosch Tools

First, let me say that I own several Bosch tools because they are a quality tool and have worked great for me. As with any power tool though things can and do occasionally go wrong. I have an older drywall screw gun that quit working so I pulled it apart and found a broken trigger. No problem says I, I'll just order a new one from their website. That's where the problem started. I used their drawing and part number to order the new trigger. Several days later I open the package and the new one doesn't match up right. I called the 1-800 number and got connected to someone in the technical department who informed me that I was out of luck because I had opened the package so they wouldn't take the trigger back. I explained to him that I used their drawings and part numbers and he said he understood but my model needed a trigger kit, not just a trigger. He explained that there was a technical bulletin explaining this but it was only sent to authorized service centers, not posted on the website. After much arguing about the stupidity of selling parts without providing all the needed info he finally agreed to send me the correct part at no charge. I got the new part and it works. All that to say this. If you work on your own tools, then use the 1-800 number and talk to a live person to make sure you get the right parts. Don't just depend on the website drawings because they may not always be right.

Good advice jim, glad they made it right for you.
Amazing what a phone call or e-mail to customer service can do. I have a forced air kerosine heater that started sputtering on the third season and opened it up to find the fuel line dry/cracked at the fitting. Looked up the part number and was disgusted at the price for a little length of hose + shipping. Sent a letter to CS, and they sent me the hose free of charge.( I fixed it in the mean time with a $1.50 worth of fuel line from Oreilly).
