braiding lanyard?

I found some stuff from a google search and like the wide flat braid but there are some tutorials out there.

The one size fits all theory for lanyards is okay, but if you are going to make a lanyard, make sure it fits you. I have found some lanyards to small, some too large. I make a pattern, so I know it fits right.

Get a 4 foot piece of rope, about 3/8" or 1/2" in diameter. I use rope so I can use the twist to mark where I want the drops. With twisted sisal rope you can slip a piece of para cord through the twist to locate your drops.

Then make sure you have the clothes on that you would wear while hunting. You need one for summer and one for winter clothes. Take the rope and hang it around your neck, to get the length you want. Next mark your rope on each side for where you want your drops to be located. Now you can make a true fit lanyard.

Like fw707 is showing you, I like to have my drops come out way up by the sides of my neck. They have maximum separation that way and the length of the drop don't have to be so long as they are already near your mouth. You can avoid excess swinging of the calls with the shorter drops.
Good luck, have fun with it and don't forget to post some pics of your lanyard(s).
