Let's start building our night hunting rigs boys!!! New regs for 2005 have been published. I almost don't know what to do with myself!

Neither landowners nor agents need a permit from ODFW to spotlight predatory animals on land they own or lawfully occupy. ODA has authority to define "agent" for purposes of the predatory animal statute. Written documentation is not required.

No Person Shall: Hunt any wildlife from a motor-propelled vehicle. Exceptions: Landowners and agents can shoot predatory animals from motorized vehicles on land they own or lawfully occupy.

No Person Shall: Cast an artificial light from a motor vehicle while in possession of a weapon; or cast an artificial light upon a game mammal, predatory animal, or livestock from within 500 feet of a motor vehicle while in possession of a weapon. Exception: Landowners or their agents hunting predatory animals on land they own or lawfully occupy.

And I was planning on buying an Oregon license this season any ways. It is going to be a must now!

Boldasabear is in Cali right now. Just wait till he gets back and finds this out! The new Dodge will be getting a high chair! lol He has been waiting for this for a long time. Just don't know how well the diesel will do!

Just think what this will do for all the lazy hunters that are all ready out there.

I will just be happy that I don't have to walk long distances from the rig any more!

From the way I read it, this will only be on private or deeded land. Too bad we won't be able to lawfully do it on all of the BLM and State lands. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

yep, too bad. There are a lot of public lands out there calling for us to night hunt them. The good news is that to be legal on private land all you now need is the permission of the landowner to be considered an "Agent". Before you actually needed to have agent status approved through the ODFW.
